Treemedia Content Oy Publishing House is preparing to issue the second edition of one of the first Russian author’s photobooks.
The book “Born in the USSR” was released by Leonid Gusev’s publishing house (now – Treemedia Content Oy) in 2005 being one of the first attempts to start publishing author’s photobooks in Russia.
Since the times of the first edition, Igor Mukhin’s book has practically become a cult publication. Despite of quite a significant circulation volume of 2,000 copies, it was sold out a few years ago, and many photo enthusiasts and photobooks collectors have been searching for rare editions in the hope to trace them in second-hand bookshops. The price of some of the copies sometimes reaches 250 dollars.
Taking this into account, the author and Treemedia Content Oy Publishing House decided to release the second edition of “Born in the USSR”. It is going to be released in hardcover, with a newly edited text. The book will also have more pages, and contain Igor Mukhin’s new photographs, including those taken in recent years, on both the film and digital “Leica”.
